Boys and girls cross country wrap: Pottsgrove's Hillen sets pace at Lehigh

Pottsgrove’s Naomi Hillen captured the Girls White Race in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University Saturday with a winning time of 18:37.1 – one-tenth of a second ahead of runnerup Tatum Lynch of Pennsbury.
The other top finishers in the Girls White Race were Phoenixville’s Kerry Mochnally (30th, 20.09.5) and Alyssa Cunningham (51st, 20:42.6).
In the Girls Brown Race, Perkiomen Valley were paced by Summer Watts (17th, 18:38.8), Delaney O’Sullivan (25th, 19:01.0), Megan Furlong (65th, 19:53.8), Elyse Tancini (70th, 19:57.7) and Claudia Brach (71st, 19:58.4).
Claire Zubey set the tone for the Owen J. Roberts girls in the  Brown Race with a 25th-place finish in 18:50.8, followed by teammates Hannah Kopec (54th, 19:44.1) and Calista VanDruff (89th, 20:17.9). Other local finishers in the top 100 included Pope John Paul II’s Isabella Greco (50th, 19:38.7), Gianna Cagliola (56h, 19:46.1) and Katy Todd (80th, 20:06.0) and Spring-Ford’s Nora Albertson (58th, 19:47.8).
In the Boys Brown race at the Short Invitational, Owen J. Roberts got top 30 finishes from Thomas Damiani (25th,  16:02.5) and Andrew McMonigle (28th, 16:06.7) followed by OJR teammates Vincent Fennell (51st, 16:22), Cole Smith (71st, 16:40.6) and Josh DiMarino (83rd, 16:46.3).
Other top 100 PAC finishers in the Boys Brown Race included: 67. Ethan Rebelin PV 16:37, 68. Quinn Smith SF 16:38.6, 74. Andrew Carlin SF 1:41.8, 78. Kibura Brown PV 16:43.7, 81. Jack Kapralick, Methacton 16:45.3, 94. Phil Smith PV 16:50.1, 98. Tyler Clifford PV 16:52,2, 100. Anthony Bamford SF 16:53.5.
In the Boys White Race at Lehigh, Brandon Hendriksen of Pottsgrove led the locals with a 31st-place time of 16:44.1 while Boyertown got strong showings from John Black (43rd, 16:52.5) Eric Muthersbaugh (49th, 6:59.8), Cameron Kratz (59th, 17:09.8) and Alex Barton (69th, 17:18.6).
Souderton Twilight Race
Team standings: 1. CB East 24 points, 2. Upper Merion 58, 4. Upper Perkiomen 87
Upper Perkiomen’s Donald Miller finished third in 16:32.62 while Upper Merion teammates Patrick O’Donnell (6th, 16:51.91) and Jack Larkin (8th, 17:08.54) also had top 10 finishes in the six-team boys field at Souderton. Other top 20 finishers included Upper Merion’s Brinker Matics (11th, 17:11.26), Parker Edge (15th, 17:23.96) and Andrew Ebersole (18th, 17:35.71) and Upper Perk’s William Daub (13th, 17:18.78) and Blandin Conklin (20th, 17:48.97).
In the eight-team field at Souderton – with Council Rock North garnering the team title – Upper Merion placed sixth behind second-place finisher Veronica Sanchez (18:51.10). Also finishing in the top 10 individually were Phoenixville’s Madison O’Neill (6th, 19:40.32) and Methacton’s Madeline Ziegler (10th, 19:53.75).
