Boys hoops: Lapetina, Parks lead defensive-minded Perkiomen Valley; Norristown falls

Perkiomen Valley 40, Souderton 33 – The visiting Vikings put the clamps on at the defensive end, holding the Indians to three fourth-quarter points in registering the nonleague victory Monday night.
Trailing 30-28 entering the final frame, Perk Valley took charge with the suffocating defensive effort during a closing 12-3 push. Tyler Lapetina poured in a game-high 18 points and Kameron Parks added 11 for the Vikes.
PV, which lost its first five games this season, improved to .500 at 7-7 with its third straight win.
