Boys hoops: Phoenixville returns with a flourish, overtakes Pottstown for fourth straight win

Phoenixville 52, Pottstown 46 – The Phantoms returned from a 17-day COVID pause with a flourish, using a strong fourth quarter to overtake the visiting Trojans and capture their fourth straight win Monday night.
All locked at 34, Phoenixville posted an 18-12 edge in the final framefor the PAC Frontier decision. Zavier Mayo had 6 of his game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter, while Mike Memmo (5) and Will Allain (4) combined for 9 to compensate for a 3-for-10 shooting effort from the stripe in the fourth.
Allain finished with 8 points while Memmo and Jackson Kuranda added 7 apiece for the Phantoms, who hadn’t played since beating Pottsgrove 53-41 on Friday, Feb. 5.
For the scuffling Trojans, who have lost 6 of 7, Jahzeel Watson led the way with 12 points while Nyles Bunn-McNeil and Corey Cottman cashed 10 each.
