Boys soccer: Oladipo's hat trick powers Pottstown past Upper Perk

POTTSTOWN – Olatunde Oladipo delivered a hat trick and Pottstown exploded for five unanswered goals en route to a 6-3 Pioneer Athletic Conference victory over Upper Perkiomen Tuesday.

Miguel Ross added two goals for the Trojans (1-1 Freedom and overall), who trailed 1-0 before unleashing the five-goal burst, with Tomas Vasquez also finding the range. Pottstown keeper Alejandro Perez finished with 11 saves.

Upper Perk (1-1, 2-2) got goals from John McHale, Cory Burkhart and Aaron Van Dyke.

Owen J. Roberts 5, Boyertown 0 – The Wildcats rebounded from a tough loss to Spring-Ford by handing Boyertown its first PAC-10 loss of the season.

Zach Jennion and Paolo Chavarria had two goals apiece for the Wildcats (2-1 Liberty, 2-2), with Dan Brady (goal), Jonathan Bush (2 assists) and Aaron Kemmerer (assist) also contributing to the winning attack.

The loss drops the Bears to 2-1 in the Liberty, 2-2 overall.

Pottsgrove 3, Pope John Paul II 2 – Brian Price’s second goal – in the 72ndminute – gave the Falcons their first win of the season. Rushawn Larmond contributed the other strike for Pottsgrove (1-1 Freedom, 1-4).

PJP, which fell to 1-2 in the league and overall, got goals from Derek Sein-Lwin and Pete DeLeo.

Perkiomen Valley 1, Spring-Ford 1 – Drew Vernon connected on an assist from Matt Quirk with 11 minutes left in the second half to help the Vikings (1-1-1, 1-3-1) earn the PAC-10 Liberty Division tie.

The Rams (1-1-2, 1-2-2) had scored first when Dylan Dufour converted a corner kick.

The contest featured strong play in net by both keepers – with PV’s Taylor Zeitz and Spring-Ford’s West Counts coming up with 10 and 11 saves, respectively.

Methacton 2, Upper Merion 0 – The Warriors broke into the win column on the strength of goals by Josh Tagland and Anthony Santoleri. Earning assists for Methacton (0-2-1, 1-3-2) in the nonleague decision were Luke Herber and Taylor LeSage.
