Boys soccer: Pottsgrove takes over PAC lead on another shutout by Kaiser; Perkiomen Valley, Boyertown roll

Pottsgrove 1, Upper Perkiomen 0 – Luke Kaiser notched his second straight clean sheet and fourth of the season and Jeremy Thompson had the lone goal in the first half off a scramble in front of Indians’ keeper Matt Wanamaker as the Falcons moved into first place in the PAC with the shutout win.
Shane Gleason picked up the assist on Thompson’s decisive strike for the Grove, which improved to 5-2-1 and is one game in the win column clear of second-place Perkiomen Valley (4-2-1).
 
Perkiomen Valley 3, Methacton 1 – The Vikings bolted out to a 2-0 first-half lead and never looked back, riding the fast start and a balanced scoring attack to the PAC victory. Owen Slack had one goal and one assist to key PV, which also got goals from Steve Warren and Owen Love and additional assists from Alex Chamorro and Matt Holmes.
Mike Renner picked up 8 saves to anchor the Vikings’ defense, the lone blemish a second-half strike by Chris Rowland on a header for the Warriors, who were unable to capitalize on a 9-5 shot advantage.
