Boys soccer wrap: Abdalla propels Pottsgrove past Upper Perk with pair of goals

RED HILL – Ethan Abdalla poured in a pair of goals to propel Pottsgrove to a 4-1 Pioneer Athletic Conference boys soccer triumph over Upper Perkiomen Friday.

Also scoring goals for the Falcons (2-1 Freedom, 2-4 overall) were Rushawn Larmond (2 assists) and Ahmed Amer, while keeper Steve Klotz delivered six saves.

Upper Perk (1-2 Freedom, 2-3) got its lone goal from John McHale.

Pottstown 6, Glen Mills 1 – The Trojans improved to 2-1 overall with the nonleague victory, sparked by a hat trick from Olatunde Oladipo and a two-goal showing from Miguel Ross.

Nick Zipay was instrumental in Pottstown’s high-goal output by collecting four assists, with Aaron Kemmerer getting the other Trojans’ goal.

Marple Newtown 5, Methacton 1 – Anthony Santoleri had the only goal for the Warriors (1-4-2 overall, 0-2-1 PAC-10 Liberty) in their nonleague setback.

Upper Darby 1, Phoenixville 0 – The Phantoms (2-1 Freedom) fell to .500 (2-2 overall) with the nonleague loss, despite getting five saves from keeper Bryan Fuhr.
