Field hockey: Plower, Alderfer help Methacton edge Spring-Ford

Methacton 3, Spring-Ford 2 – Bayla Plower snapped a 2-2 tie with 24 seconds left in regulation off a Rachel Alderfer assist to boost the Warriors to the narrow PAC Liberty verdict Monday.
Alderfer added two goals and two defensive saves for Methacton, offsetting strikes by Julia Corropolese and Alexa Collins for Spring-Ford, which got 12 saves from goalie Ashley Della Guardia.

Phoenixville 7, Academy Park 0 – The unbeaten Phantoms set the tone with two goals in the opening 3:00 to stretch their early season record to 4-0 (2-0 PAC) in the nonleague clash. Aubrie Breisblatt finished with two goals and three assists and Katie Baker added two goals and two assists to pace Phoenixville, which also got two goals from Nicole Thompson and flawless play from the keeper tandem of Gianna Chiponis and Sophia Greenwalt.
