Girls hoops: Boyertown advances to second round of districts behind Eisenhard, Schlesman

BOYERTOWN – Kaitlyn Eisenhard collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 6 Boyertown past 27th-seeded Central Bucks South Friday night in the opening round of the District One Class AAAA girls basketball playoffs.

The Bears, who won their second straight Pioneer Athletic Conference champion with a triple-overtime triumph over Spring-Ford two days earlier, also got a strong game from senior guard Jess Schlesman. Schlesman poured in 18 points to go along with 3 steals and 3 assists.

Boyertown (23-2) started fast and kept up the pressure, building a 16-5 first-quarter lead into a commanding 25-10 cushion by the break. The Bears move on to host the winner of Saturday’s Avon Grove (No. 11)-Garnet Valley (22) clash on Wednesday night.

CB South finishes its season at 13-10.
