Girls lacrosse: Owen J. Roberts drills Boyertown; Pope John Paul II outlasts Upper Perkiomen in OT

Owen J. Roberts 19, Boyertown 5 – The Wildcats, winners of the last four PAC championships, opened up a commanding 13-4 halftime lead and never looked back to improve to 2-0 overall on the young season Wednesday.
Gabbi Koury led the way with six goals and three assists for OJR, which also got multiple points from Alexa Vogelman (six goals, assist), Gracyn Smith (five assists, two goals) and Emily Himmelreich (goal, assist).
For the Bears, who put together a league record 155-game winning streak against PAC competition while capturing 11 straight league championships prior to the Cats’ current run, Delaney Fox had two goals to pace a balanced scoring attack.

Pope John Paul II 13, Upper Perkiomen 12, OT – Kallan Bustynowicz and Rory Nilsen poured in five goals apiece as the Golden Panthers opener their season with the dramatic OT victory in PAC Frontier action.
For the Indians, who led 10-3 at the break before PJP staged its thrilling comeback with a 9-2 edge in the second half to force the extra session, MaryKate Sitko and Lindsay Bieler came through with hat tricks.

Phoenixville 15, Pottsgrove 9 – Alana Lathan scored six goals, Maddy Schramm notched 15 saves in goal and Hook picked up a hat trick to carry the Phantoms to the PAC Frontier victory.
For the Falcons, coming off a season-opening crossover loss to Owen J. Roberts one day earlier, Alaura O’Neill posted four goals, Sydney Wasdick registered a hat trick and Riley Simon contributed two goals and seven ground balls.
