Girls soccer: Sitko, Upper Perkiomen boot Pottsgrove; Spring-Ford blanks Boyertown for 6th shutout of season

Upper Perkiomen 4, Pottsgrove 0 – The Indians blew open a 1-0 lead with three goals in an 8-minute span early in the second half to record the PAC win Thursday night.
Sara Edwards and Sarah Fisher started the run with goals in the 48th and 54th minutes, respectively, before Mary Kate Sitko finished things off with her second goal in the 56th minute.
Gabby Neal had the clean sheet with 8 saves for UP, which also got assists from Kyra Lesko, Emily Schaut and Sara Edwards to improve to 5-2 on the season.

Spring-Ford 3, Boyertown 0 – The Rams completed the season sweep of their longtime rivals behind goals from Claire Lanzisera, Vania Mokonchu and Reese Kershner. Riley Wallace and Ericka Eickhoff had one save each to combine for the shutout – the sixth of the season for Spring-Ford (6-1).
 
Methacton 2, Perkiomen Valley 0 - Kristen O’Brien broke the ice in the 16th minute with a header off a corner and Julia McCann added an insurance strike in the 75th minute on a breakaway off a counter attack to carry the Warriors to the PAC triumph.
Molly Rowland and Ruby Murray had assists and sophomore keeper Mairi Smith collected four saves for the clean sheet. For PV, Riley Hill was a stabilizing force with 12 saves.

Upper Merion 0, Phoenixville 0 – Defense ruled the day as the Vikings and Phantoms went 100 minutes without finding the net in the scoreless deadlock.
Phoenixville, which held advantages of 8-4 in shots and 4-1 in corner kicks, got four saves from keeper Ella Stout while her counterpart had a matching clean sheet with 8 saves.
