Girls volleyball: Pottsgrove breaks through; Methacton, Pope John Paul II sweep

Pottsgrove 3, Phoenixville 2 – The Falcons earned the first PAC win in program history 25-13, 25-19, 16-25, 24-26, 15-10 despite strong outings by Maria Coll (6 aces, 20 digs), Alexa Grammerstorf (ace, 9 kills, 8 digs), Avery Stackhouse (ace, 5 kills, 21 digs) and Riley Dahar (7 kills) for the Phantoms. Pottsgrove was winless in its previous two seasons in the league.

Methacton 3, Norristown 0 – The Warriors took the PAC match in straight sets – 25-19, 25-22, 25-18 – behind Sydney Zerbe (15 kills, 5 digs), Melinda Eglinton (8 kiills, 2 aces, 10 digs, 2 blocks). Meghan Haftl (29 assists, 1 dig), Claire Claudy (6 kills), Ali Hazlett (5 kills, 4 blocks), Emma Ginther  (11 digs), Nya Cherry (10 digs) and Elly Brunt (7 digs, 3 aces).

Pope John Paul II 3, Owen J. Roberts 0 -  Sarah Ward (8 kills), Hanna Tulli (9 kills), Heather Lesinski (6 kills), Lauren Phillips (4 kills), Tea Pasquale (10 digs), Jessie Donovan (6 digs), Chelsea Harvey (20 assists), Lexi McMonagle (8 assists) and Erin Dychdala (5 assists) were the linchpins in the PAC sweep for the Golden Panthers, who cruised by counts of 25-9, 25-8, 25-11.

Boyertown 3, Daniel Boone 0 – Emily Wolfe (16 kills), Julia Smith (17 digs), Emma Ludwig (27 assists), Adrianna Derstine (7 kills) and Jess Ahart (5 kills) keyed the nonleague 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 rout for the Bears.
