The week that was: O’Donnell, a junior designated hitter, was a perfect 6-for-6 with three doubles during the Final Four playoffs as the Phantoms ended a 17-year championship drought by taking out Owen J. Roberts 6-5 in the semifinals and Spring-Ford 5-3 in the title clash at Spring-Ford’s Ram Stadium.

In the eight-inning, semifinal win over the Wildcats Wednesday night, O’Donnell lashed three hits including two doubles, driving across a pair of runs and scoring another to set the stage for the finals showdown with the Rams. O’Donnell’s clutch RBI-single preceded Justin Blakey’s walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to help Phoenixville overcome a 5-3 deficit after OJR jumped in front with two runs in the top of the frame.

O’Donnell continued his torrid work with the aluminum in the championship game Thursday, matching his 3-for-3 semifinal outing with a double and two runs scored. O’Donnell also came across with the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth inning during a three-run uprising that reversed a 3-2 deficit and sealed the deal, giving the Frontier Division champion Phantoms their first league title since 2002.
