Kinetic PT Co-Athletes of the Week: Pappas (Phoenixville), Lemishko (Upper Merion)

The headliners at the PAC Swimming Championships over the weekend at Perkiomen Valley, Phoenixville’s Erini Pappas and Upper Merion’s Michael Lemishko, are Kinetic Physical Therapy’s Co-Athletes of the Week.

Pappas and Lemishko, both sophomores, posted strikingly similar performances in their respective boys and girls competitions, with each placing first in the same two events – 200 IM, 100 butterfly –and also medaling in two relay events apiece.

Athlete: Erini Pappas

School: Phoenixville

Sport: Swimming

The week that was: Erini continued her brilliant sophomore season with a huge medal haul at Saturday’s PAC championship meet at Perkiomen Valley. Individually, Pappas touched first in both the 200 IM (2:10.22) and 100 butterfly (57.31 while also swimming the third leg for the victorious 200 medley relay team that clocked in at 1:50.76 and also included Katya Hayward, Sarah McCarthy and Sarah Ritter.

Capping her brilliant performance was a second-place, silver medal finish in the 200 free relay (1:41.85), where she also was on the third leg following sister Penelope Pappas. Ritter and Hayward swam the first and anchor legs, respectively, for the Phantoms in the 200 free relay.

Athlete: Michael Lemishko

School: Upper Merion

Sport: Swimming

The week that was: Michael, an accomplished sophomore who was a major catalyst in the Vikings’ unbeaten dual meet league season (10-0) leading to the PAC championship and a first-place showing in Friday’s championship meet at Perkiomen Valley, touched first in the 200 IM (1:58.52) and 100 butterfly (52.72) - like his female counterpart, Pappas.

In addition Lemishko helped both the Vikings’ 200 medley relay (Andrew Hoy, Cody Nguyen, Lemishko, Aidan McNally) and 400 free relay (CJ Besz, Lemishko, Hoy, McNally) teams garner silver medals with respective times of 1:38.56 and 3:16.32.
