Ten Methacton student/athletes announced their plans to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level during a recent signing ceremony at the high school.

Why did you choose this school?I chose Saint Joes because it was the perfect mix of academics and athletics, and it was a great distance from home.
Reflections on high school career: 4-year varsity player, leading scorer in my senior year, PAC champions, qualified for states 2 years, and senior year captain

Why did you choose this school? Lehigh offers outstanding rigorous academics while having competitive athletic opportunities.
Reflections on high school career: My high school baseball career has been the most fun years of baseball I've played my entire life. It is awesome to accomplish goals with the guys you have grown up and played with your whole life, it is an experience we might not ever get again.
Coach’s comments (Paul Spiewak): Ben has been a standout student and pitcher since he stepped foot in the high school at Methacton as a freshman.  He has battled against the best teams in our conference year and year out, and this senior season will be no exception.  He will go down as one of the best pitchers to play in our baseball program, and we look forward to seeing him compete at a high level for one more season as a Warrior.  We wish him the best of luck this spring and in his collegiate career at Division One Lehigh!

Why did you choose this school? Felt like it was the best fit for me both academically and athletically. 
Reflections on high school career: I have had a great time at Methacton playing baseball with my closest friends and teammates. Before my career at Methacton ends I want to take home the PAC championship.
Coachs comments (Paul Spiewak): In addition to being an outstanding baseball player, Perry is a great person and a leader within our Methacton baseball program.  As a starter since his freshman season, Perry has the potential to be one of the best players in the conference this spring at multiple positions.  Perry is a standout player for us both offensively and defensively.  We wish him nothing but the best this spring and starting next fall as he transitions to the college level.

Why did you choose this school? The coaching staff took me in as one of their own and made me feel at home. No school could compare with the academics and baseball that Ursinus brings to the table.
Reflections on high school career: It was an uphill battle, but I never let that stop me from achieving what I had set to accomplish my freshman year.
Coach’s comments (Paul Spiewak): In addition to being an outstanding baseball player, Mike is a great person and leader amongst the student body here at Methacton.  Mike will have the opportunity to be a standout position player both offensively and defensively for Methacton this season.  We wish him nothing but the best this spring and starting next fall at Ursinus!

Why did you choose this school? I chose Shippensburg because of the well accredited business school and the winning baseball program.
Reflections on high school career:  My High School baseball career has had its ups and downs but I have always worked my hardest on and off the field and controlled all of the things that I could control. I have had great coaches and teammates that have helped me get to where I am today but none of it could have been done without the endless support of my parents. The most important thing I have learned through this process is that hard work and dedication are the keys to success and I will take that will me for the rest of my life.
Coach’s comments (Paul Spiewak): Chris has been a tremendous leader both on and off the field for the Warriors over the past few seasons.  He has electric stuff on the mound and will have the opportunity to be a standout pitcher and position player for Methacton this season.  Shipp is very fortunate to have a student-athlete like Chris attend their University.

Why did you choose this school? Had great relationship with coaching staff and players, full ride scholarship, and a great basketball program. Also has a good Business school.
Reflections on high school career: Methacton has brought me success on and off the court. I have had some great seasons as a basketball player with great success and great teammates. Also, at Methacton, I was able to make friends that will last a lifetime and get a quality education that prepared me for college.

Why did you choose this school?: As soon as I walked on campus I got that at-home feeling and knew I wanted to go there.
Reflections on High School Career: What an amazing career I’ve had so far, from going undefeated in season and winning the PAC my junior year to coming 3rd in districts and top 8 in the state. Plus, I had my career high of 26 saves plus 4 in shutouts  to make it into state playoffs!

Why did you choose this school?  Monmouth University offered everything that I was looking for academically and athletically, it felt like home. It’s the perfect distance from home and did I mention it’s on the beach!
Reflections on high school career:  The Methacton Girls Soccer Program has given me THE best four years of my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better high school career and I have my coaches, my teammates, my family, and my best friends to thank for that.

Why did you choose this school? From the incredible academics to the high-intensity athletics, my question with Temple was not “why,” but “why not.”
Reflections on high school career: I will be forever grateful for the team and coaches I have had for my entire field hockey career at Methacton. I believe that we have accomplished a lot during my years, and I couldn’t be happier.

Why did you choose this school? WCU provides strong academics, a competitive softball program and is a medium sized school with a lot of campus activities and school spirit.
Reflections on high school career: High School is what you make it to be, and nothing comes easy.  For me, it was a great experience because I worked hard to achieve the grades I knew I could achieve.  In addition, having a balance of academics and athletics is very important to me.  Playing softball and basketball has taught me a lot of great life skills in addition to working hard – sportsmanship, teamwork, confidence, leadership, commitment and time management to name a few.
Coach’s comments (Coach Koehler – Sellersville Belles Gold): “Abby is THE corner for the Belles at third base. She has a solid bat and that combined with her fearless and rock solid play at third, makes it tough to take her out of the lineup.”
