Methacton, Perkiomen Valley fall; Owen J. Roberts, Upper Perkiomen, Phoenixville advance (full boxscores)

(15) CB South 2, (2) Methacton 1 – The Pioneer Athletic Conference champion Warriors were stunned in the second round of the District 1-AAAA tournament Wednesday - their first loss after 20 straight wins a season-ender.
Kasey Dietzel scored the game-winner off a stroke for the Titans with 5 seconds left in the first overtime frame to cap the stunning win for the Titans, who overcame a 15-2 deficit in penalty corners behind a sturdy defensive effort anchored by goalie Jillian Heilig (17 saves).
Methacton had taken charge in the first half on Emily Owens’ stroke, but was unable to find the back of the cage the rest of the way on their home turf.
CB South draws (7) Owen J. Roberts in the district quarterfinals Friday (7 pm).
