Pope John Paul II blanks Pottstown behind McCarthy, McFall; Gorla keys Perkiomen Valley comeback

Pope John Paul II 6, Pottstown 0 – Aidan McCarthy and Colin McFall combined on a five-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and Mike Kelly went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs to power the Golden Panthers to the PAC Frontier victory Saturday afternoon.
Matt Pinone and AJ Stento added two hits apiece for PJP, with Pinone and Colt Narciso driving in runs.
For the Trojans, sophomore David Hicks was 3-for-3 with a double In support of the strong pitching of Brandon Gebhard and Aiden Leh, who combined to allow just two earned runs while striking out six.  
  
Perkiomen Valley 8, Henderson 7 – Joe Gorla’s  grand slam triggered a five-run rally in the top of the seventh inning that carried the Vikings (4-2) to the nonleague victory.
Tommy Moore picked up the win in relief, working two innings behind starter Joey Guinta who went five hits and allowed three runs on six hits.
 
Gov. Mifflin 7, Boyertown 2 – Mitchell Peers(2-3)  and Caleb Harrison (1-2) each drove in a run and combined for three of the Bears’ five hits in their nonleague setback.
For the winners, Trevor Woolwine went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI and Isiah Livingston allowed just five hits and one earned run in going the distance as the Mustangs (5-4) gave head coach Chris Hole his 100th career win at Mifflin.
 
Wilson 6, Owen J. Roberts 4 – The Wildcats (3-4) absorbed the nonleague loss, managing just three hits from David Bealer, Jack Rinehimer and Jordan Siket – Siket picking up an RBI with his safety.
