Swimming: Pottsgrove's Prior, Agnew headline PAC effort at PIAA Class AA championships

LEWISBURG – Pottsgrove senior Mikey Prior headlined the PAC effort at the recently completed PIAA Class AA Swimming Championships at Bucknell University’s Kinney Natatorium.

Following his 10th place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (1:57.77)Thursday, Prior  took 13th in the 100-yard backstroke (53.56) Friday

Prior’s teammate, Falcons junior sprint ace Patrick Agnew placed 29th in the 100-yard freestyle (49.38) on the heels of an 18th-place finish Thursday in the 50 free (21.83).

Also in the boys competition, Upper Perkiomen sophomore Kyle Kovalenko finished 29th in the 100 breast (1:02.24), two spots up from his pre-race seeding of No. 31.

On the girls side of the ledger, Upper Perkiomen freshman Noel Fresa placed 29th in the 100 backstroke (1:01.48) Friday following an 18th-place finish in the 50 free (24.82) on the opening day.

The Class AAA state championships will be Saturday and Sunday at Bucknell.
