Upper Perkiomen, Pope John Paul II, Pottstown secure nonleague victories

Upper Perkiomen 12, Oley Valley 2, 6 innings – The PAC Frontier Division champion Indians belted three home runs in rolling to the nonleague win Thursday.
Winning pitcher Karlee Fretz (2-3, 2 RBI, R), Morgan Lindsay (3 runs) and Taylor Lindsay (3-4, 4 RBI) all went deep for Upper Perk, which will be in action Tuesday night when the PAC Final Four semifinals begin at Spring-Ford.
Pope John Paul II 10, Gwynedd Mercy Academy 0, 5 innings – Ashley Remington fired a three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and Hope Robinson drove in four runs with a double and home run to lead the Golden Panthers (9-7 overall) to the nonleague victory.
Nicole Bowen (2 RBI, 2 runs), Gabby Simms (2 runs), Grace Harvey (run) and Dani Dare (run) added two hits apiece for PJP.

Pottstown 11, Academy Park 2 – The Trojans (2-16), who ended a three-year winless drought with a 9-4 triumph over Reading Tuesday, earned their second victory of the season in impressive style – securing the program’s highest win total since 2008.
Caitlyn Mattingley went the distance in the circle for the win, allowing seven hits and five walks while Gianna Epps (triple, 2 RBI), Kat Kincade (3-4, double, triple, 4 RBI), Mary Gery (2 RBI) and Faith Roach (RBI) triggered the offense.
