Weekend wrestling roundup - Dual meet tournaments highlight opening slate

Franny Lutz Championship Duals (Upper Merion)
Methacton, Pottsgrove, Upper Perkiomen and host Upper Merion all participated in the multi-school event Saturday. Reported results were incomplete, but in showdowns involving PAC schools, Upper Perkiomen defeated Methacton 45-31 and Methacton topped Pottsgrove 48-23.
Methacton, which also fell to Northeast 48-29 for a 1-2 day, were led by Brody Brokowski (152) and Roman Moser (182) with perfect 3-0 marks that included three falls each. Also unbeaten at 3-0 on the day for the Warriors were Kibwe McNair (2 pins, major at 160) and Osvaldo Carbajal (pin, decision, technical fall at 132) while Gabriel Bove went 2-1 at 106,
Pottsgrove, which also lost to Central 45-33 and West Chester Henderson 58-18 for an 0-3 mark, got three pins apiece from Zach Van Horn (220) and Manny Allen (285). Also for the Grove, Josh Cerrito was 3-0 at 145 with one pin, one major and one three-point decision. Trenton Allen (126) and Matt Bechtel (138) also went 2-1 on the day to supplement the Falcons’ effort.
Upper Merion got falls from Ayden Cheng (138), Sean Williams (145) and Nicholas Hutchinson (170) in a 46-30 loss to William Tennent – the only reported result involving the host Vikings.

Spring-Ford (115) placed sixth among 22 teams at Cumberland Valley behind Seneca Valley (217.5), Nazareth (198), Canon McMillan (151.5), Council Rock South (151) and Cumberland Valley (124).
Joey Millano earned the gold for the Rams with an 8-3 decision of Drew Clearie (Nazareth) at 182, Quinn Tobin finished third at 132 after posting a 3-0 decision over Jaciah Whitcomb (Cumberland Valley) and Quinn Smith pinned Brandon Kheuangthirath (Manheim Central) in 2:16 to take fifth at 120 to headline Spring-Ford’s effort at the two-day event.
 
Sam Lovello Classic (Brandywine Heights)
Pope John Paul II’s Matt Vulakh settled for the silver medal, falling to Mason Myers (Central York) 2-0 in the 132 championship final and Cole Miller was fifth at 120 following a fall in 2:16 over Edgar Holland (Muhlenberg).
The Golden Panthers finished 13th in the event with Central York, Garden Spot and Conrad Weiser topping the field in the team standings.
 
Cedar Crest Duals
Dave Polanki (3-0 at 182 and 196), Owen Koch (3-0 at 160 and 170), Mason Koch (3-0 at 132) and Antonio Valenteen (3-0 at 120) had perfect runs for the Phoenixville, which took third place with a 2-1 record including wins over host Cedar Crest 54-21 and La Salle 36-34 (third-place match).
The lone loss for the Phantoms, who also got strong showings from Anthony Stevenson (2-1 at 170 and 182) and Angelo Franzone (2-0 at 160), was to Abington 41-33 in the semifinals.
