Wilson hits 1,000 in Upper Merion loss

(4) Springfield (Delco) 45, (10) Upper Merion 25 – Jordan Wilson scored 11 points, including the 1,000th of her career, but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings (14-12) fell short in the District 1-5A fifth-place game Monday.

Amya Anthoney added 9 points for UM, which opens the state playoffs Saturday (3 pm) against District 3 champion Harrisburg (23-4) at East Pennsboro High in Enola.

Jordan D’Ambrosio contributed 16 points and three assists for the Cougars (21-7), who held Upper Merion to four points in each of the first three quarters.
