Winter track: Spring-Ford's Israel sets pole vault mark at New York City meet

Spring-Ford’s Melissa Israel broke her own school record in the pole vault with a meet record mark of 11 feet, 7 inches to capture first place in the event at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City over the weekend.


The previous meet record was 10-6 held by Zavattaro Rubinetti.


Also for the Rams, Madison Turosinski placed fourth in the pole vault (10-0) and the 4x800 relay team of Gabriella Bamford, Emily Smith, Julia Vledder and Sydney Galster clocked in at 1:00.49 for a ffith-place medal. The Spring-Ford 4x800 boys team of Zachary Smith, Jacob McKenna, John Clark and Milan Sharma was eighth in 8:24.94.
