Woodward, Girardo power Methacton past Boyertown; Pottsgrove, Pottstown come up empty

Methacton 62, Boyertown 43 – Jeff Woodward and Marcus Girardo posted double-doubles to pace a balanced scoring attack that carried the Warriors (3-1, 6-5) to the PAC Liberty decision Saturday.
Woodward finished with 13 rebounds and 11 points while Girardo stuffed the stat sheet with 12 boards, 10 points and 5 assists for Methacton, which also got 13 points from Brett Eberly and 12 from David Duda.
For the Bears (1-3, 5-5), Jerry Kapp and Marcus Thomas finished with 7 points each.

Locked in a 30-30 tie at the break, the Grove was outscored 36-14 down the stretch by the Whippets (4-5) – who got a game-high 17 points and 6 rebounds from Greg Barton.
