Methacton signings: Dickinson, Eglinton, Hull, Koch, Lawrie, Leahan headed to next level

Methacton High School senior student athletes Tommy Dickinson, Melinda Eglinton, J. Otto Hull, Reese Koch, Sarah Lawrie and Nikolas Leahan, representing six different sports and all three NCAA Divisional levels, announced their college destinations during a recent signing event at the high school attended by family, coaches and friends.

Tommy Dickinson – Football – Eastern Michigan

Why did you choose this school? "Eastern Michigan is exactly what I was looking for. The University is the right size for me. Eastern Michigan Football is a “Family” and I felt it right away on campus. I am grateful for this opportunity and I am proud to be a part of Eastern Michigan Football and University."
Other comments: "My sisters set the bar high for me! Brittany Dickinson played (field hockey) at Wake Forest University and Julia Dickinson played (field hockey) at Ohio State University. They paved the way for me, and showed me it is not easy. It takes hard work, dedication, and alot of grit! I have dreamed about playing college football since pee-wee and I can’t wait to get to Campus!"
Melinda Eglinton – Volleyball – Kutztown

Major Athletic Honors: Over 1,000 varsity kills, 1st team All-PAC Liberty, 2nd team All-District, 1st team All-Area (Mercury), 1st team All-PAC; Methacton varsity captain junior and senior years; Varsity starter and 6 rotation player since freshman year.
Academic/community service: Sideout foundation ambassador
College Major: Business with a concentration in marketing

Why did you choose this school? “The size and campus style are exactly what I was looking for. I immediately connected with the other girls on the team, and the 2022 recruits. The decision was easy since I could easily envision my next four years there.”
Reflections on high school career: “I started my freshman year playing varsity volleyball with my older sister, which will forever be one of my favorite memories. Methacton volleyball provided me with lifelong friends, dedicated coaches, and hard fought wins.”

J. Otto Hull – Soccer – Lock Haven
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Club Affiliation: West-Mont Premier

Major Athletic Honors:1st Team All-Area (Mercury), 1st Team All-PAC Liberty, Methacton Team MVP, PAC Championship 
College Major:  Entrepreneurship
Why did you choose this school? “Lock Haven has an amazing coaching staff, one of the best teams in the PSAC East, and also an awesome campus."
Reflections on high school career: “I learned a lot from everyone I played with. Playing with boys who were older, bigger, faster and stronger than me my first couple of years forced me to be a better, tougher player. What I remember most is that everyone who was on the team was so awesome and always had a good attitude when it came to cooperation and solving problems on the team. It really was an incredible environment to be a part of.”
Other comments: “I’m just happy I got to be a part of winning the PAC Championship with all of my friends and our team.”

Reflections on high school career: “I am grateful for the opportunities given to me by Coach Mahan.”
Sarah Lawrie – Golf - Millersville

Academic/community service: Member of National Charity League. Completed more than 200 community service hours, including Special Olympics and Mitzvah Circle.
College Major: Undecided
Why did you choose this school? “I chose Millersville because of the outstanding academics and beautiful campus. I was really impressed with the golf program and I loved Coach Vandegrift’s enthusiasm. I am very excited to be part of the team next year!”
Reflections on high school career: “I have had a great experience playing golf at Methacton for four years. I had great teammates and I really enjoyed being part of the team. I want to thank Coach Lloyd for everything he has done."
Nikolas Leahan – Lacrosse – Lynn University

Why did you choose this school? “For its academic rigor and block learning schedule. The competitive lacrosse program led by Coach Kingsbury and Coach Miller.”
Reflections on high school career: “I was a state champion at LaSalle my freshman year of  high school and I was also able to play with my Methacton friends in my sophomore, junior and senior years.  I had the best of both worlds.”
